The device has applicability in USAR environments where human entry may be precluded and rubble is light. Actually, it has very good performance given that it is quite old. The first thing we tried, of course, was driving it up some stairs. Video duration: 58 seconds June 2007 at the Constellation hotel in Toronto during the HUSAR (Can TF3) exercise. Following the canine teams into the hot zone almost 48 hours after a CAT-equipped dog found a casualty in less than 2 minutes. A wall with multiple casualties behind it has just been breached but only canine access was allowed. CAT and CRDS were deployed shortly thereafter.
